Former MC5 Bassist Injured In Motorcycle Crash
Michael Davis, the former bassist for Detroit legends the MC5, has been hospitalized due to injuries from a motorcycle accident on Monday, May 8th.
According to Michael’s wife and manager, Angela Davis, Michael was riding his Harley Davidson on a Los Angeles freeway when he was unable to avoid a large muffler that dropped from a vehicle into his path. Michael was wearing a helmet and leather jacket, but suffered a fractured spine, bruised ribs, and several abrasions. He is expected to recover.
Davis was slated to appear with the remaining members of the MC5 (who perform under the name DKT-MC5) the Joey Ramone Birthday Bash in New York City on Friday, May 19th. The lineup for that show will be modified.
