Bullets and Octane are a great blend of heavy metal and punk rock, and their latest album, In The Mouth Of The Young, is a perfect example of how well these sounds can go together.

I connected with frontman Gene Louis by phone while he was on the road. He is a great guy who has a lot to say about his musical influences (his dad was a jazz drummer), working with a major label (the band just signed to RCA), and what it was like to turn over control of the drums (Louis was formerly a drummer, when he took over the vocals, he handed the sticks to Ty Smith, one of the Vandals high rotation of touring drummers).
