Goons of Doom - The Story Of Dead Barbie And Ghost

Wednesday August 9, 2006

If zombies, cannibalism and motorcycles strike you as funny subjects for songs, let me introduce you to Goons of Doom.

Fronted by pro-surfer Ozzie Wright, the Goons met on the set of the cult surf movie Doped Youth, where they played the part of a band. They enjoyed it enough to give a shot in real life.

The Goons play goofy punk rock. Sometimes it's soft and melodic, sometimes it's cruchy and noisy; whatever the sound, it's always a lot of fun. Well, it's a lot of fun if you find songs about eating people on the beach and shooting Hello Kitty to be fun. And if you don't, maybe you need to loosen up a bit.
