hellogoodbye - Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!

Thursday August 10, 2006

Call me crazy, but with an album title like Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, you'd think we'd be in for a fun album with at least some songs about the aforementioned creatures who are all, in the opinion of anyone with any sense, way cool. Especially dinosaurs.

Instead, on Zombies! Aliens! Vampires! Dinosaurs!, which I do have to say is simply the best album title in a long time, hellogoodbye puts a strike against themselves by not doing a single monster song at all.

What they do play are predominantly synthesized danceable love songs that would be a bit sappy if they weren't so impeccably produced. They're not for everyone, but they are a welcome break from all the newer bands who equate screaming with making music.
