Get dressed for the h bomb!

Monday August 21, 2006

For over a year now, dressed for the h bomb has been providing surfers with MP3s of 7" records from some great out-of-print punk and hardcore bands.

Updated once a week, the site ranges from well-known artists (this week's offerings was some demo tracks from Generation X, where Billy Idol got his start) to obscure bands that never made it anywhere (last week's offering from Soldiers of Fortune was from an album with no address or identifying information on it whatsoever) but they're usually quite good, and always interesting bits from the history of punk rock.

Scrolling through dressed for the h bomb is like digging through the record stacks at a really good independent record store. If you find their selection a bit overwhelming, though, here's my top pick: the best this site has to offer is these tracks from a limited edition 7" by 7 Seconds (link).
