Eyes Set To Kill - Reach
In just a few short hours I’ll be on a plane to sunny Austin, Texas, escaping a miserable Detroit winter for five days of sun and music at SXSW. But just to show that there’s someone keeping the home fires burning, contributing writer David Jablinsky is offering up a review of Reach, the latest from Eyes Set To Kill.
Eyes Set To Kill is another example of the marketing juggernaut that is MySpace. As an unsigned band, they were number one for 10 months, and now they have spun that status into a recording deal and a full-length.
Eyes have an interesting sound; sort of like an old-school metal meets screamo thing, with some harmonic vocals supplied by Alexia, the band's lead singer, lead guitarist and pianist. It’s an odd combo, and not the most accessible sound, but it’s unique and powerful enough that they have a pretty big following.
Check out Dave’s review of Reach from Eyes Set To Kill, and stay tuned to the site over the next five days as I offer up ever-evolving coverage of SXSW. Hopefully, I can keep from getting the police involved this time.
