Punk Rock on the Small Screen: Heavy Load: A Film About Happiness

Monday June 23, 2008

Boing Boing TV has a sneak preview for the documentary Heavy Load: A Film About Happiness, which premieres tonight on IFC.

Heavy Load is a UK punk band that includes members who have developmental and learning disabilities, and the film spans the two years the band spends recording their album The Queen Mother’s Dead. It looks like it’s going to be really good.

Heavy Load: A Film About Happiness is on IFC tonight at 9 PM EDT, repeating at 1 AM and one more time at 2 PM tomorrow. Even if you won’t be home tonight, and even if you don’t have a VCR or a TiVo or whatever you kids are using these days to record shows, I’m giving you three opportunities to catch it – no excuses.
