The latest on the Sirius/XM Punk Vs. AC/DC Debacle: Let them know what you think!

Thursday October 9, 2008

In the wake of Sirius and XM ditching their punk stations, it seems that I am hearing from a lot of fans of those stations that are getting mixed messages and what I would only describe as “substandard customer service.”

Some of you are being told that the stations will be back in January. Some of you are being told that the stations are not coming back ever. And some of you are met with indecision; with a message implying that the providers haven’t exactly made decision yet.

I have also heard from folks who aren’t sure how to get in contact with the providers. To be sure, their sites are a little convoluted, and often want you to fill out forms, rather than actually give you contact information.

We have tracked down the contact information for the two providers so that your voice can be heard.

Sirius Customer Service
Phone: 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474)
Email: customercare@sirius-radio.com

XM Customer Service
Phone: 1-800-967-2346
Email: listenercare@xmradio.com

I urge everyone with an interest in this issue to make your voice heard by contacting your satellite radio subscribers! Let them know that Sirius 29:Punk or Fungus were your favorite stations, and that you want them back. And, while I realize we are a bunch of angry punk rockers, I also urge you to use a bit of decorum. Be polite; a hate-filled F-bomb loaded diatribe may work for punk rock songs, but it ain’t the way to get your message heard by a corporation.

Let us know what you hear.

Thanks a lot for publicizing this problem. I am a Sirius subscriber (at least for now) and am really disappointed that they canceled the punk channel. I hope that you attention to the issue can generate some customer response.

Thanks again.

I hope lots and lots of people out there contact Sirius about this. There is no way they can ignore punk.

I found a thread on “sirius Backstage” regarding this – perhaps it is another place to say what you think.

Sirius 29 Punk was my favorite station. I can’t believe they replaced an entire genre of music with AC/DC. Nobody wants to hear AC/DC 24/7, not even AC/DC fans. I know they’re saying PUNK “should” be back in January, but I don’t want to wait til January. What a terrible Idea this was for Sirius…
