Following a trend set by the Devil Wears Prada, Coheed and Cambria have entered the zombie game. Or more specifically, Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez has.
Today saw the release of the debut issue of Key of Z, a zombie comic written by Sanchez. Here's a bit of background from the press release:
The zombie apocalypse has transformed the city into two separate battle-hardened fiefdoms. Nick Ewing is left to survive while seeking revenge on those responsible for the death of his family - the warring gangs residing in The Big Apple's most illustrious athletic houses. Ewing stumbles upon a sentimental artifact from his past that imbues him with surprising power. Find out what happens when he discovers the KEY OF Z.
So, you got zombies and gang warfare? Sounds like a violently good read.
Last year saw the Devil Wears Prada release The Zombie EP and comic, which they followed up this week with a mobile video game. Just when I thought the zombie genre may have been starting to get played out, it seems to be heavily intersecting with music, and I'm welcoming the entertainment options still to come.
Key Of Z is available at your local comic shop, or online here.
