One of the first (after the first):
For the first eight years of their existence, Blood or Whiskey played it close to home, playing venues throughout Ireland, England and Scotland. In 2002, following the release of No Time To Explain, the band set out for the rest of the world, touring much of Europe and coming to the U.S. four times now.
Alan Confrey - RIP:
At that point, the band took a break from touring and have kept busy since then writing, resuming touring and recording a new album, which is due in 2009.
Current Lineup:
Chris O'Meara - Drums
Peter Mullan - Bass
Pete Townsend - Banjo
In September 2007, the band announced that their accordion player, Sean Fallon was leaving the band. They have yet to announce his replacement.

Cashed Out On Culture
By far the best of the band's releases, 2005's Cashed Out On Culture finds Blood Or Whiskey reaching the farthest into punk yet (without leaving their traditional roots behind).
The first album to showcase frontman Dugs Mulhooly (who was a founding member, but didn't assume vocal duties until the band's original vocalist, Barney Murray, left in 2003), Cashed Out On Culture is not just a exploration in Celtic punk either, finding the band exploring a bit of ska, and some straight up punk as well.
The best surprise on this album is the track "Doors of Hope," a duet featuring former Pogues bassist (and ex-wife of Elvis Costello) Cait O'Riordan on vocals.
