RC: Now Mamapalooza, what's this about?
KR: Mamapalooza is about getting a group of women together and performing and celebrating women and moms. Last year was our first Mamapalooza, but we went to New York and played in their Mamapalooza, and they had 27 bands that played. Band after band, and pretty much anyone that enters can perform. Our Mamapalooza, we started last year and we had JillJack, the Candyband and the Mydols.
KR: We're doing it to inspire other moms to follow their passion, whether it be music or art. Also we're doing it for charity this year, for the YMCA, and we've rented out booths to women who've stared their own businesses, or to sell artwork. And it's the week before Mother's Day, so we're celebrating moms.
RC: It's a nationwide event?
KR: Yes, and every city puts on their own Mamapalooza.
RC: Who's at the Detroit event?
KR: The headlining band is Kathy Valentine and the Impossible. She was the bass player for the Go-Gos. The Candy Band is opening, and then the Mydols, and the Detroit Women.
RC: Now, what's in the future for the Mydols?
KR: Every day's a gift. We never expected anything, so everything is great.
