Flatfoot 56 Live at the Magic Stick, Detroit, 2008

Chicago punks Flatfoot 56 are a Celtic punk powerhouse, complete with pipes, mandolin and great punk rock energy. In addition to the great sounds they crank out, they fill the crowd with positive energy. Despite an all-ages packed house that ranged in age and demographics from 16-year-old punks to 40-year-old skins, the crowd was incredibly friendly to one another, and the circle pit was old school fun, with kids picking each other up and not looking to throw punches. And to top it off, unless you've heard a crowd of punks sing "Amazing Grace," you've never REALLY heard that song.
