Immediately after the Briggs, it was time to catch the Street Dogs, proving that street punk was one of the popular flavors of the day, To the strains of "The Star-spangled Banner" on guitar and blaring air raid sirens, the band took the stage, encouraging everyone to sing, dance and take care of one another in the pit. They blasted through some crowd favorites like "Not Without a Purpose," which had hundreds of kids in a circle pit that never got out of hand, and "Toby's Got A Drinking Problem," which had sweaty strangers putting their arms around one another, singing along. If there is a current band that embodies the idea of unity in the punk scene today, it's the Street Dogs.
