... where's The Clash?
- I agree 100% with Minor Threat and Dead Kennedys, but I would also include Strummer & Co., from the Clash to Combat Rock. I think they inspired lots of other punk bands in the 80's and 90's...

Bad Religion anyone?
- Not sure why such an influential band was left out.

boy's club...
- let's not forget that bikini kill is the best political punk of the 90s.

Re-Evaluate
- I believe Fugazi, not Minor Threat, should have been the focus of the 'Political Punk' article. Fugazi songs, in general, were far more political than any of the Minor Threat songs. I completely agree with Phil about Against Me's best album being Reinventing Axl Rose. Excellent. The Eternal Cowboy was one of the best follow-up albums I have ever heard. However, we're talking political punk here, and the song 'From Her Lips To Gods Ears' was something of a political punk anthem a short time ago - not to mention all over satellite radio - and it appears on Searching for a Former Clarity.

Sqautters, Eco-punks more
- Tchkung! - Incite: Soundtrack for Post-World Insurrection Smash Things Up! These guys became well-known for the conclusions of their shows, which occasionally ended in police raids & riots. They ended up forming The Infernal Noise Brigade who took things ten steps further. Do yourself a favour and check them out. Di Nigunim - Balagan! With song titles like Fascist Degradation and Solidarity these gypsy punk pioneers have played protest shows at both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions as well as along the US/Mexican border. Have violins, accordions and cymbaloms ever screamed for revolution this loud? Blackbird Raum - Swidden These guys bring together rhythms of olde-tyme music with lyrics that reflects the sense of impending collapse of the current civilization that pervades much of green anarchist culture in modern times as well as criticizing the human and environmental destruction caused by the current civilization. See ya!
