Formed:
Chicago, IL, 2000
Flatfoot 56 was formed as a three-piece street punk band by Tobin, Kyle and Justin Bawinkel, three brothers. With the addition of Josh Robieson, the band added bagpipes and mandolin to the lineup, and created their trademark Celtic punk sound.
Lineup:
Josh Robieson - bagpipes, mandolin, guitar
Kyle Bawinkel - bass, vocals
Justin Bawinkel - drums, vocals
Flatfoot 56 Live:
Flatfoot 56 truly excels with their live shows where as much of the action happens in front of the stage as on it.
The band's trademark is their well-orchestrated circle pits and meat grinders, where the band calls the actions in between songs.
Another trademark of the band is their traditional set closer, a rendition of "Amazing Grace," which begins as a singalong before launching into a circle pit.

If you only own one Flatfoot 56 album, it has to be this one. There are multiple reasons, it's well-produced, it has a lot of anthems, many of the songs are catchy, etc.
But really, the one element that sets this on above the others is the inclusion of "Amazing Grace." This song is such an essential part of this band, that for this one reason, you should grab this CD first. The rest is gravy.
